Support letter for Ride 2 Freedom
I would like to extend my greatest congratulations to the participants of the “Ride 2 Freedom”! This group of youths shouldering the 3,000-mile cross USA bicycle tour for such a good cause are really remarkable and worth the attention of the whole world.
Defending the Human Rights of those persecuted is always a good cause. The persecution against millions of practitioners of Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, who follow the principle of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance, is a serious crime. The practitioners are peaceful, law abiding citizens of China.
Yet the Chinese Communist Party launched a country-wide persecution against Falun Gong in 1999, resulting in families torn apart and children orphaned, many thousands of them lost their life as victims of torture or organ harvesting.
These children and youths, riding their bicycles, sacrificing their summer breaks, traveling to the US from around the world, are creating an impact of justice.
On behalf of International Society for Human Rights, Germany’s biggest human rights organisation, I urge world media to seize this great momentum and to stand on the right side of history, forming an international pressure on the Chinese communist regime and demand an immediate stop of the persecution.
