It is a pleasure to welcome the thirty young cyclists arriving today from Los Angeles. At the beginning of this month, they set out to raise awareness for the victims of religious persecution in China, starting thousands of miles away in Los Angeles, cycling across our nation — a nation founded on principles of religious and spiritual freedom—- and spreading this message to the citizens of Kansas City and Missouri.
I wish to commend you all for your commitment to raising awareness of the persecution and abuse of millions of Chinese citizens may be silenced in their own country, but your sacrifices have helped ensure that they are heard here.
Congratulations on making it all the way to Kansas City on this special journey and best wishes for the rest of your travels in honor of this important cause.
