On behalf of the City Commission and the entire Lawrence community, I welcome the thirty Ride 2 Freedom youth who began their journey across the United States on June 1st in an effort to raise awareness of the plight of children in China struggling to achieve their spiritual freedoms.
I applaud the cyclists’ efforts and for their dedication to a cause which is selflessly aimed at helping those in a nation not their own and to bring awareness to a cause that personally moves them to action.
Our community wishes you the best on your cross-country trek to Washington, D.C.
